Teenagers are the riskiest group of drivers on American roads according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). According to the watchdog, teenagers are four times more likely to be involved in an accident compared to the mature drivers. Although the safety rules for teenagers on the road are similar to those for adults, parents should be in the forefront of making their teens better drivers by training and by example. In fact, according to Brad Eggleston, the vice president of AutoVantage, which is a leading car care and travel assistance group in the US, ‘safety fast’ should be the motto for every parent with an aspiring teen driver.
